did this just measure *any* game, like MMORPGs? Older adults often gravitate towards undemanding games (like citybuilders [at HeavenGames we often noticed the really old people - eg Civis Romanus - often came from Caeser 3, Emperor ROTMK, or Pharoah]) rather than the ones that really benefit cognitive fitness the most (be it playing new types of games all the times, or intense RTS games)

Seems like that could work. Play more starcraft and test your reaction time and let us know if it improves?
